Okay, so you’ve been using a dating website for a while and have finally met someone that you want to get to know more. How do you go about setting up your first online date? Here is some advice on arranging your first internet date.
First of all, arrange a time and place to meet. You should treat this like a real date. Have fun with it. Tell your partner where you’re taking them. Are you at a restaurant or have you gone to a club? What are the surroundings like? Really set the scene.
Leave the TV off and ignore your phone. Would you be as easily distracted if you went to a restaurant? Settle at the computer with a glass of wine and relax. If you want to go one step further, you could dress up and do your hair as if you were actually being taken on a date. This works particularly well if you have the use of a webcam. With so many improvements in technology, you could even use microphones to talk to each other.
It is possible to have a first date online, but you have to be imaginative. You might feel a bit embarrassed at first or a bit silly, but once you are relaxing, online dating can be a really fun and enjoyable experience. There won’t be any awkward silences, you get a chance to think before you speak and they won’t be able to see if you get food in your teeth. What could be better?
