Close Contact on the Date
During your first date there may be an opportunity for you to get up close and personal, but remember to handle this with care. You don’t want to blow the date with a perfect partner by coming over all “Mr Groppy” do you?
If you are always the gentleman you will make yourself look good. You will be surprised how many women these days say, “I thought all gentlemen had died out”, if you show some consideration and are polite. Hold a door open, if you need to touch her use the elbow. It may sound old-fashioned but women are not impressed with clingy men on a first date.
Dancing is also a great opportunity to show your prowess and all women adore men who can dance. Lets face it though, most of the time we are like drunken uncles at a wedding, so use the dance card advisedly.
Stand close enough to appear interested and intimate, but do not invade her space. Staring and stalking are another off-putting practice. If you are out and see someone you like the look of, far better to go up and talk to her than follow her around trying to catch her eye. Which is more likely to come across as a confident strong personality? You can bet it’s not the serial stalker.
Remember to mind your manners – please and thank-you goes a long way, even in today’s society. Swearing and arguing is not going to win many prizes.
